Build Your Own Pizzert

Wait, what the heck is a pizzert???

Pizzert/ noun.
Dessert pizza. A pizza topped with anything sweet. Bonus points for chocolate.

(Yes, I very much did just make up that definition ;).  But it should be a real word!)

You can use whatever you want for the crust—traditional pizza dough, pita bread, tortilla… Especially for breakfast pizzerts, I really like to use pancake mix! Such as in the below Breakfast Pizzert:

You can easily use your own recipe for the pancake crust (or, as I mentioned above, you can use basically any crust), but here is an easy recipe with a hint of sweetness, so it works especially well for breakfast pizzerts: Click for Recipe and Step-by-Step Photos

Pizzert is a real word! Pizza Inn, a chain (maybe just in the southern US?) has desert pizzas… thin crust with fruit, bavarian cream, or chocolate. the chocolate chip pizzert is basically thin crust, yellow cake mix, extra butter, and chocolate chips. It’s really good!

    pizzaman,
LOL! That’s awesome!! I think I’ve heard of Pizza Inn :). I hope they don’t mind me using the word… well, I’m not using the term to make money or anything, so I think I’m ok.
Anything with chocolate chips sounds good to me (well, almost anything hehe).

Hi Katie! What kind of coconut butter do you use? Can you give me a brand so I can look it up?

    Wendy,
Hi!! I use Artisana Coconut Butter and HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. It’s one of my top 5 favorite foods. It tastes like eating shortbread :).

What a cool name and food concept. I love pizookies (cookie in a pizza form), I will definitely put this in my to-do list. Love the coconut butter toppings.
