CCK is Moving!

It’s not you, it’s me…

(By the way, stupidest break-up line ever)

I know a lot of you have had issues with my blog being slow or not loading for you lately. I’ve had those issues too!

For a while now, I’ve been getting too much traffic for my shared server, and so I am finally biting the bullet chocolate chip cookie (who wants to bite a bullet? Yuck!) and moving to my own server.

headder new

So the real question of the day: Does this blog look strange?

Just ignore any oddities you see for the rest of today as the bloggie moves; hopefully it will be back—and running much more quickly!—very soon.

Also, I was surprised flabbergasted at the overwhelming interest in the giveaway post. There ended up being over 3,000 comments on that post! 😕 It took me a while to make sense of everything, but I finally wrote a wrap-up post and announced the winner.

See: Best Giveaway Ever Wrap-Up.

Thanks a ton for all your patience, and for not abandoning my blog completely out of frustration for its slowness.

Chocolate hugs!!!

-Katie

What a cool problem to have: too much traffic haha Has it moved already? It looks good.

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

I’m getting some comments on the old site and some on the new one… I see the new site, but apparently many people don’t yet.

  2. Lissy says:

you know you’ve made it big when you need a dedicated server 🙂

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

Ugh… my wallet’s not so big right now! And I am having such a headache setting this whole thing up! So many technical things going wrong… I just want to make desserts lol!

  3. Lorin says:

I never had a problem with the site, but I’m happy that you had so much traffic to crash it! I’m hoping the chia seeds will come to my house soon 🙂

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

Did Elana contact you? Did you get my email???

      1. Lorin says:

Yeah I did. I sent her my address again, but she never said anything back. She said she was handling it though, but it would be nice to know approximately when it will come 😛 It’s okay though, if I don’t end up getting it, it was fun to win a giveaway!

        1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

All I can think to say is to keep emailing her, because that’s all I could do. I don’t personally have any of the winning items; that was all coming from her. So email her again.

          1. Lorin says:

Okay, I emailed her about a week ago giving her my address again, but I’ll give her one more day and then email again. 🙂

  4. The Teenage Taste says:

Jeez, Katie! I wish I had your little “problem.” There are just too many people that want to read your lovely blog at the same time. Not that I can blame them. 😉

  5. Kerryne says:

I wish I had your problem 😉 Happy for you that you are “moving on” to bigger and better servers! I just love all your chocolate-ness and have to admit I have made like a bazillion of your No guilt cookies for family functions and EVERYONE has raved about them! Only problem… I can’t stop eating them.

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

Awwwww that makes me SO happy!!

  6. Mellie says:

congrats! i also wish I had this problem!

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

Oh gosh, nooooo you don’t. I have had the worst day! They’re asking me to do all these technical things, like backing up my blog… I have had to google search until my eyes are ready to fall out! And now LiveWriter is refusing to post to my new site… I just want to share my fudge pops. Is that too much to ask, LiveWriter???!!!

Oy, the joys of the internet! I am learning so much more from this whole experience than I ever learned in a classroom!

  7. Aja says:

It’s funny to read all these comments about wishing to have the same problem. I’m honestly glad I don’t and I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this. I think I would freak out and forget it. I’m terrible with technology. I can’t wait for the blog to be completely moved. I love your desserts!

  8. Angela @ Mylk 'n Cookies says:

    Congrats to Hannah!

  9. LizAshlee says:

That’s great news! Congrats on high traffic and having your own server…you rock! 🙂

  10. Lilly says:

Yay for you, not for the problems, but for being so AMAZING and needing your own server… you rock girly! And congrats to the winner too, what a lucky duck! Also, I just wanted to let you know I received the chia seeds from your other giveaway, thanks so much for hosting it… it even came with free stickers and chia & chocolate bar samples, score!

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

Awesome! I am so glad it arrived ok :).

  11. Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says:

    woah! congrats 🙂

  12. Ashley C says:

well if you have to have a problem too many readers is probably the best one 🙂 Im no compuer genius so i have no idea what it means to changer servers or whatever, as long as i can read your blog!!!

  13. Qi Ting @ Misadventures of Fat free Baking says:

Whoa, no wonder I had difficulties accessing your site! Poor computer… I accused it for something it didn’t do 🙁 haha How is the new site different from the old one? Because I have no idea if I’m accessing the new or old one now! 😀

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

Well, there’s a whole “tech-y” way I could tell you to check, but here’s an easier way: if you see comments on the “Samoas Larabar” page, you’re still on the old site. If that post says “comments closed” you’re on the new one. That post didn’t transfer over in the move, so I lost all the comments.

      1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

On second thought, there’s no need for you to check. I can see your comment, and therefore I can tell you that you ARE on the new site :).

  14. Lindsay@ In Sweetness and In Health says:

Aw Katie, I can’t imagine the trouble it has taken you to do all of this…but that is honestly great that you get so many views! You are fabulous 🙂

  15. Lexi @ A Spoonful of Sunshine says:

I’m glad you got everything all fixed up! I’m sure the new host will provide for even better chocolate-covered ventures (if that’s even possible?) 🙂

  16. Sarah says:

Hooray for you Katie – another step in the life of my grown-up role model! I haven’t commented in a while. I havent read any of the posts this month! Guess why? I’m in India! For my cousins wedding (as junior bridesmaid). So much to do, i haven’t had time to sit! even if i did…. no internet connection. SO imagine my excitement when i go to stay over at my cousins house and find an internet connection. Excitement? Yes. Joy? mmmhm. Jumping up and down and screaming at the top of my lungs like i’ve never had internet before and waking up my cousin who came down with a freaky looking face mask that made me REALLY scream? Like duh. Pure bliss? OH YEAH! You missed me. I know. And if you’re mad i haven’t been around? What can i say? It’s you, not me. 🙂

    1. Chocolate-Covered Katie says:

Hahahahahahahaha I don’t think you could make me laugh any more than you just did!
