What if I told you this creamy dessert in front of you is actually healthy chocolate mousse:

This velvety chocolate mousse is so rich and so thick that anyone who tries it will swear it must be full of heavy cream and calories.
But surprisingly, it’s not at all!
See those two chocolate-filled glasses?

I ate them both.
Joey doesn’t share food.
Katie doesn’t share chocolate.
What food do you think is too good to share? Brownies are too good to share! And chocolate fudge pie! I also like to have my own coconut butter so I can eat it straight from the jar. And now this rich chocolate mousse.
Way too good to share…

Healthy Chocolate Mousse
(Serves 2-4)
- 6 oz Mori-Nu silken-firm tofu (Click for a Soy-Free Chocolate Mousse Recipe)
- 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips, or 1 and 1/4 chocolate bars in the flavor of your choice (3-oz bars)
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp milk of choice
- 1/16 tsp salt
- pinch uncut stevia OR 2 tbsp sugar or sweetener of choice
Melt the chocolate, either on the stove or in the microwave. Then throw everything into a Magic Bullet or food processor and blend until super-smooth. (I used a Magic Bullet. If your food processor is really big, or if you’re using a blender, it might be a good idea to double the recipe in order for the contents to blend smoothly.)

I definitely want to make this! But is the nutritional info for 2 or 4 servings?
I finally found the right kind of tofu and was able to make this tonight. All I can say is thank you!
This is REALLY good, my favorite recipe of yours yet probably. As a pregnant lady with “all day” sickness I’ve been eating a lot of bland carbs and this was an excellent way to sneak in some protein. Next time I’ll omit extra sweetener and will probably cut down on the chocolate chips (gasp!) a bit because it was a little sweet and rich for my taste. But not a bad problem to have with an already fairly health recipe.
Hi, love the recipe and would love to try it someday. But what would you recommend to substitute the Tofu? I’m not completely sold on Tofu (my personal choice) and cant think of what I could use to replace that ingredient. Your suggestion would be greatly appreciated . . . thanks in advance 🙂
I made the recipe with a friend the other day, and it came out pretty good…but SOOOO chocolatey! Almost too much for me, but my friend loved it!
Check it out on my blog!

Hello. I am not a cook per se but I love chocolate mousse. I just bought a slice of choco mousse cake but the mousse tastes unusually sour. Does chocolate mousse spoil? Does it taste sour after? Should I eat it or not?
Katie! My, my, my! This is outstanding! I finally took the time to find YOUR brand of tofu, the guy at the store did not even know where it was, but I put on my 007 role, and scoped it out. As you have said before, it makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!! I made your chocolate pie, and although my 16 year old daughter liked it, it DID taste like tofu (refrigerated kind used!). I just made this mousse, with Ghirardelli 60% Cacao chips- and oh, my! Chocoholic heaven! I also only use King Arthur Flour’s Double Dutch Dark Cocoa. Do you use King Arthur brands? Their website is like a candy store for bakers!
Anyway, I am so glad to have found your site, bought 4 boxes of Mori-nu tofu, and tried this recipe (the first of many of yours I have made the right way)! Thanks so much, Katie!
PS: Why are your frozen ice creams not including tofu in them (or not the ones I have read so far)?

I try not to make *too* many recipes with tofu, because I know a ton of people who read are either allergic or don’t like soy (out of fear, I guess). So I try to change it up. Also, a lot of people say they can’t find Mori Nu, and I think that type is so much better than the refrigerated type. 😕
But maybe someday in the future! Maybe a cookies ‘n cream ice cream…
I just whipped this up and topped it with the coconut whipped cream. My family gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. Yummy! It was so quick to make, I’m a cupcaker and when I make those I’m usually in the kitchen for awhile, so I was happy to make a Delish dessert so quickly. Thank you for your amazing recipes. I’m so happy to have stumbled on your blog. I think next time I’ll put this in a graham cracker pie crust and freeze it for a bit. Mmmm….
This dessert has become one of my faves. And, NO ONE believes me when I tell them that I adore a chocolate mousse whose main ingredient is TOFU! 🙂
Oh, and I used regular tofu since I couldn’t find your brand, and it works perfectly! I always double the recipe also.
I’ve been wanting to try this for a while and finally did tonight, but it has a weird aftertaste. I’ve new to tofu so I’m not sure if this is the way it’s supposed to be or if maybe it’s the kind of tofu I used? I bought the only thing they had at the HEB in the city I went to last time….
try Mori-Nu! It is the best, and no aftertaste. It’s in an aseptic package, so not in the fridge section. Ask a store employee (or go to google images and type in Mori Nu to see what you’re looking for.)
