What if I told you this creamy dessert in front of you is actually healthy chocolate mousse:

This velvety chocolate mousse is so rich and so thick that anyone who tries it will swear it must be full of heavy cream and calories.
But surprisingly, it’s not at all!
See those two chocolate-filled glasses?

I ate them both.
Joey doesn’t share food.
Katie doesn’t share chocolate.
What food do you think is too good to share? Brownies are too good to share! And chocolate fudge pie! I also like to have my own coconut butter so I can eat it straight from the jar. And now this rich chocolate mousse.
Way too good to share…

Healthy Chocolate Mousse
(Serves 2-4)
- 6 oz Mori-Nu silken-firm tofu (Click for a Soy-Free Chocolate Mousse Recipe)
- 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips, or 1 and 1/4 chocolate bars in the flavor of your choice (3-oz bars)
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1Â tbsp milk of choice
- 1/16 tsp salt
- pinch uncut stevia OR 2 tbsp sugar or sweetener of choice
Melt the chocolate, either on the stove or in the microwave. Then throw everything into a Magic Bullet or food processor and blend until super-smooth. (I used a Magic Bullet. If your food processor is really big, or if you’re using a blender, it might be a good idea to double the recipe in order for the contents to blend smoothly.)

LOVE the FRIENDS reference. I watch that show every night on DVD.
P.S. I jut made something really similar the other night to calm my sweet tooth. Looks awesome!
My husband went bananas over this recipe! He is requesting it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between!! 😉 Chocolate perfection!
I want this right now! It looks so delicious!
Looks SO GOOD! And simple. Is there any alternative to tofu? I’m not very good at mind over matter and can’t handle the idea of tofu.
I love the glasses you served them in they portions look small but in thoses glasses they look substantial, where are they from?
I’m trying to remember… I bought them awhile ago, but I’m pretty sure they are from Garden Ridge and they were only like $2 each! 🙂
The mousse is very rich, so you probably won’t want to eat a giant bowl.
Looks and sounds delish, but wondering how to measure 1/16th of a teaspoon of salt?
If you have a 1/8 tsp just pour it 1/2way full. Otherwise you’ll have to just use a small pinch. And then taste-test.
Just saw this on Pinterest Katie! Looks divine 🙂
I am a huge fan of tofu mousse. I make a Mexican chocolate version with cayenne and cinnamon. So. good.
You can also put 1 drop of Doterra pure essential peppermint oil in it, and it will taste yummy as well. You can get any essential oil on my website at http://www.doterra.myvoffice.com/kamey. Peppermint always makes things better!!
ChocolateCoveredKatie I need your opinion! Do you think this would work as a fondue-style dip? My friends and I were gonna try it tonight but they’re uncertain it will work. Would the tofu get weird if heated up??
Yeah, I’m not sure it’d do too well if heated… but you never know! Maybe try a little bit heated?
I actually made this tonight and completely forgot to melt the chocolate chips before processing (kind of a major step, I know). So after blending, I threw the whole batch in the microwave until the chips were melty, and I enjoyed a nice hot soupy mousse bowl! Moral of the story: heating it works, IMO.
Thanks for the tip about microwaving, Julia! I didn’t quite melt the chocolate chips enough, so I put the mousse into the microwave for a minute and it worked out!
