Crispy Avocado Fries
Did I mention their magical addictive properties?
Okay good; that means you’ve been warned.
When you slice up avocado, slather it in breadcrumbs, and bake until crispy, how could it not be magically addictive?
Not to mention, these are healthy french fries – They’re high in fiber, protein, and vitamins, with very little saturated fat.

The baked avocado fries are yet another recipe I came up with out of necessity.
Every time avocados go on sale at the grocery store, I am lured into buying extras, which almost always means I find myself scrambling to eat them all before they go bad.
Throwing out food is something I try as hard as possible to never do.
As soon as I tasted the first batch of homemade avocado fries, I immediately went back to the store to buy even more avocados.
And thus, the cycle began again…

The fries were adapted from my Crispy Healthy Baked Zucchini Fries.
For a larger batch of avocado french fries, you can easily double or triple the recipe below.

Crispy Baked Avocado Fries
Ingredients
- 2 large or 4 small avocados, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup flour, such as garbanzo flour
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1 cup breadcrumbs, gf if desired (Or make your own by processing toasted bread in a food processor) (40g)
Instructions
- For a larger batch, feel free to double the recipe! Preheat oven to 420 F. Grease a baking sheet, and set aside. Combine the garlic, salt, and flour in a shallow dish. Add the milk to a separate shallow dish. Coat each avocado slice in flour, then dip in the milk. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over each slice, pressing down lightly until the crumbs stick. Place on the baking tray. Bake 15-18 minutes, or until golden. Store leftovers in the fridge 2-3 days. If you try them, be sure to leave a review!View Nutrition Facts

I would never have thought of this! Thanks for the inspiration xx
So good. One restaurant in Philly has avocado fries on the menu and they are so good. I have been wanting to recreate them.
This is such a neat recipe!

Ooo yummm!! Avocado is SO addicting, it’s true. Not mad about it! 😉 Cannot wait to make these fries because I have a perfectly ripe avocado on my counter just calling my name!
Can’t wait to try this…looks delicious! One question though…what kind of dipping sauce would you recommend?
My new obsession is mixing together tahini and ketchup. But really, anything you’d put on french fries will also be good here. 🙂
We used Aldi’s Chipotle Ranch Dressing and Original Hot Sauce!
That is gorgeous!
Homemade ranch dressing using yogurt!
I love avocados! I am definitely going to have to make this sometime!
Oh yum! I have the same problem with avocado but I found that they do pretty well in the freezer as long as you are then smashing/blending etc them into a recipe!
Hi, Katie! those look so yummy!
I have found that avocados keep in the fridge – I buy them in various stages of “ripe enough”, leave them on the counter until they are ready, then store them in the fridge until I need them.
Now these are just ridiculous (in a wonderful way)! Just made a batch, using almond flour instead of breadcrumbs. Great recipe, thanks!
Thank you so much for making them… and for experimenting with almond flour! Happy to know it works! 🙂
Hey Katie,
I made these last night and would love to feature on my blog. Would that be okay? I will absolutely mention and link to your site! Please let me know
Of course! I am always honored when someone wants to share. Because google penalizes both sites if duplicate content is found, I only ask that recipes be linked to instead of reposted. But I’m always happy if someone wants to use any of the photos from my site 🙂
