Oh my goodness, yes! In just 5 minutes, you can make this decadent-yet-good-for-you chocolate oatmeal for one.

It’s like dessert for breakfast!

I don’t let chance dictate whether my day gets off to a good start. I’d rather make sure it’ll be a good day… by consuming chocolate first thing.

Sometimes, it’s in the form of my Chocolate Banana Bread.

Or this ultra creamy Vegan Chocolate Mousse.

But often, it simply means mixing a spoonful of chocolate peanut butter into my morning oatmeal, or cutting a big hunk off a 100% chocolate bar to eat on the side of whatever breakfast I might be having.

Really, it’s not. Try it!

Am I wrong? Can you do it?

Well, then at least I got you to eat some chocolate!

M favorite way to eat oatmeal is…cold oatmeal! Or VOO! I just love oats cold-they taste more refreshing than dry

  2. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says:

That looks great and I love the action shot with the milk! Action shots (while still getting a clear image) are so tricky (unless you shoot on a tripod?) b/c trying to balance your DSLR with one hand and take the pic AND pour something = way harder than it looks! How do you do it?

And as I called it, I knew when I saw your recipe from yesterday that it would be on the foodie sites and sure enough, when I was submitting to FG earlier, I saw your recipe up. Congrats 🙂

LOL nope, no tripod. In retrospect, that would’ve been the smart thing to do. But I just poured with my left and shot away with my right. And obviously made a mess… but had fun!

  3. Kimberly says:

I absolutely agree that days should begin and end with chocolate! Definitely trying this for breakfast tomorrow! Or maybe tonight for dinner… 🙂

    This looks sooo good! Yum!

I am obsessed with the following version of oats at the moment: Blend firm silken tofu (mori-nu) with frozen banana and peanut butter….THEN, stir the tofu mixture into chilled oats.

My favorite way to eat oatmeal is with a banana, cinnamon, and almond milk – i have it for breakfast practically every single morning – yummm

  7. Alexis says:

What I just ate for breakfast this morning -and which was fantastic- was oatmeal with grated apples. I just throw the milk and rolled oats into the pot on the stove, and while they start to heat up, grate half an apple into the pot. The grated apple spreads its juices into the oatmeal, so no additional sweetener necessary. I do shake in some cinnamon at the end though.

  8. Alexa @ Simple Eats says:

I like cinnamon, vanilla almond milk, brown sugar, banana and peanut butter!

  9. Robin says:

I love making mocha oatmeal: 1/2 cup of oats + 3/4 cup of non-diary milk, + 3/4 cup of water + a tbsp of ground flax + a banana (half sliced in half added on top) + 1 tbsp of cocoa + 1tsp of instant coffee powder. It’s super simple, but awfully delicious, especially with copious nut butter and such on top. Your chocolate oats look good too though, simple and quick (which is essential now that school has started.

Chocolate oats are pretty life-changing. I love to add coconut butter and some fresh berries to the mix 🙂
