Chewy homemade chocolate Nutella rice crispy treats!

Yesterday, I met a boy who said he hated chocolate.
It made me sad. I went home and ate two nutella rice krispy treats.
After that, I felt much better 😉

Do you know anyone who doesn’t like chocolate?
Although I don’t understand them, I love finding people who don’t like chocolate… it just means there is more for me.
These ultra chocolatey Nutella crispy treats could not be easier to make. Simply combine everything together, and press into an 8×8 pan. There’s no baking required, and you only need 6-7 ingredients!

Nutella Rice Crispy Treats
Ingredients
- 3 cups rice crispies
- 2 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup store bought or Homemade Nutella
- 1/2 cup agave or honey
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder OR chocolate protein powder
- optional melted chocolate for dipping
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients but the rice crispies. Melt to a stir-able consistency (either in the microwave or on the stove), then pour over the cereal and stir very well, making sure to coat all the crispies. Line an 8×8 pan with wax or parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly into the pan. Place a sheet of wax or parchment paper on top, then press down as firmly as you can. Really press it down! Freeze for at least a half hour before slicing, and store the homemade bars in the fridge or freezer. Dip bottoms in melted chocolate if desired.View Nutrition Facts

I have a recipe very similar to this that I make pretty much all the time — they’re SO good, Katie!
My mother craved chocolate while she was pregnant with me. I’m not sure how much she ate, but I would get severely ill if I consumed any bit of chocolate when I was young. This made me hate chocolate. I still am not a big fan of it, but I do enjoy a little chocolate flavor now and then.
Those look delicious! Much better than the marshmallow rice crispy squares.
My friend is allergic to chocolate but, because of that, it tastes awful to her and makes her sick so she doesn’t mind not eating it at all!
I DO know someone who doesn’t like chocolate! It really is sad, isn’t it? I remember the first time I learned this about her. I made Irish Car Bomb cupcakes for St Patty’s Day and she took a bite (to be polite) and CRINGED! Sad. Sad. Sad. But you’re right. More for us! 🙂
Oh.my.goodness. I just discovered nutella last year and I really feel like I met my true love, haha. it is so good! these look amazing.
I used to hate chocolate! I know…sooo weird. It grew on me just in the last 5 years or so 🙂 I got a lot of flack for that
I used to be like OBSESSED with Nutella. But since clean eating I’ve cut it out, I’ve eaten it a few times for treats but I don’t crave it anymore because of all the sugar! I can’t believe I haven’t made your healthy Nutella yet… So disappointed in myself.
LOVE nutella. Any excuse to eat a big crunchy bar of it is a good one 🙂
I LOVE CHOCOLATE!!!!! I was a chocoholic before the name was even invented. This was back in 1942, see what I mean? There is nothing else on the planet but my ever lovin’ CHOCOLATE.
Love your blog, Katie! Ever since I found your blog, not even a single day goes by without me checking your blog (except probably for those few days after my daughter was born 🙂 )
These rice krispy treats look great! Can you believe I have never tasted rice krispies? I guess I need to get some and make this treat asap 🙂
Oh and nobody in my family likes chocolate, except me 🙁
So I whip up chocolate desserts whenever I get to meet my chocolate loving friends 🙂
