Chewy homemade chocolate Nutella rice crispy treats!

Yesterday, I met a boy who said he hated chocolate.
It made me sad. I went home and ate two nutella rice krispy treats.
After that, I felt much better 😉

Do you know anyone who doesn’t like chocolate?
Although I don’t understand them, I love finding people who don’t like chocolate… it just means there is more for me.
These ultra chocolatey Nutella crispy treats could not be easier to make. Simply combine everything together, and press into an 8×8 pan. There’s no baking required, and you only need 6-7 ingredients!

Nutella Rice Crispy Treats
Ingredients
- 3 cups rice crispies
- 2 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup store bought or Homemade Nutella
- 1/2 cup agave or honey
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder OR chocolate protein powder
- optional melted chocolate for dipping
InstructionsÂ
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients but the rice crispies. Melt to a stir-able consistency (either in the microwave or on the stove), then pour over the cereal and stir very well, making sure to coat all the crispies. Line an 8×8 pan with wax or parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly into the pan. Place a sheet of wax or parchment paper on top, then press down as firmly as you can. Really press it down! Freeze for at least a half hour before slicing, and store the homemade bars in the fridge or freezer. Dip bottoms in melted chocolate if desired.View Nutrition Facts

I’m not a big fan of chocolate. Ill take gummy bears over chocolate any day. I do love your recipes though and have been using the oatmeal ones as of late
My little brother cant stand chocolate. He was adopted and when my mom met his paternal grandmother she told her that and said his dad was the same was. I guess it is something in their genes 😀 that means more for me
What brand of brown rice krispies did you use? Trying to find the healthiest option that’s out on the market. Thanks!
I noticed on the nutrition facts that each serving has 9.9 grams sugar – is a serving 1/10 of the whole? Does the 9.9 grams of sugar include the Agave and sugar from the cereal or is it just the sugar from the nutella?
Hi Katie these were very delicious! However mine are quite messy to handle and didn’t really harden up? I used exactly the same ingredients as you even the healthy nutella and they also don’t seem to be as thick as yours – any tips?
Thanks again for the great recipe!
Hey Nadia, I saw your post and thought I’d let you know that we used Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter and they turned out great. Although next time I will omit the 1/8 tsp salt, little to salty for us…I’m sure it has something to do with perhaps the different Nutella??? But they are really good!!
Just made these, but used pb2 instead of the hazelnut spread, and they are awesome!
I love all your recipes most of them are so easy
I look forward to your blog everyday. And I can’t wait for your cookbook to come out
Regards
Judy
Just made these, ended up using half hazelnut spread and half peanut by accident (bought the wrong spread). But it has still ended up tasting great! Hard to believe its good for me 🙂
Just made these tonight with my 5 year old girl and they were fabulous!
It wasn’t overly sweet and it had a deep chocolate flavor.
We’re looking forward to trying your other recipes! : )
Thank you for sharing!
Does the recipe really call for 2.5 tsp of vanilla? Seems like an awful lot… Love your recipes so far, keep ’em coming!
