Yesterday morning’s weather was abominable.
Abominable.
Like the snowman.
Thankfully, breakfast made up for the weather.
Warm, cinnamony Snickerdoodle Oatmeal.
Dear spellchecker, “cinnamony” is too a word. Don’t you know anything??
Usually, rainy days are reserved for staying inside with a warm drink and a good book. Yesterday, however, I had somewhere special to go. October is “Adopt a Pet” month, and even though I’m not over the death of my dog (and I never will be), I know I can offer a good home to a lonely puppy.
Can you believe this guy was scheduled to be euthanized?
He looked so sad in his crate; it would’ve been impossible to not take him home. If you’re ever thinking of buying a dog, please consider adoption so that adorable pups like this one won’t be put down.
I really want to call him Batman. (Check out those ears!) But my sister informs me this would be cruel and I must give him a proper name. So far, he-who-must-not-be-named seems to be getting along with Henry, my other dog. Henry pretty much ignores the puppy.
Grumpy Henry.

He’s gorgeous – how could anyone put him down?!
And what about calling him Robin – to get the theme in… 🙂
OMG he’s adorable, Katie! Someone may have already suggested this, but what about the name Bruce Wayne? 😉 Regardless of what you name him, he’s just too cute 🙂
Such a cute little guy! I don’t have any pets since I live in an apartment, but when I can get a house I totally want to get a dog.
And I think cinnamony should be a word. The spell checker called me out on pumpkiny the other day. But some things just should be right!
YAY for pet adoption!!!!!!! I think Batman is an awesome name (especially with those ears!) – he is too cute.
I just had to pop in to say… ADORABLE PUPPY!!! You’re so sweet to save him! I completely agree with adopting over buying (I rescued my border collie mix from a barn)! Truly adorable pictures (and gorgeous picture of you!) – that cute little face made my day! 😀

I can totally get behind you on helping animals in need instead of just buying brand new “shiny” ones, as it were. At least half of our cat pride at home were ones that, while not adopted per se, we didn’t buy. They sort of came into our possession. We found most of them abandoned/as strays/as young kittens with no mother in sight/etc.
I know there are people who regard pets as “just animals” who live under the same roof as the humans, but to me they’ve always fallen squarely under the heading of “family.”
Also I haven’t had any problems commenting? Then again, I haven’t been commenting as much as, er, I probably should be. Heheh ^^;; Hope ya get that worked out.
Sooo cute!! Love the pics 🙂
Congratulations! That is so nice of you! When I finish my studies I want to adopt a dog, too. Or better all of them…
OMG, you should TOTALLY name him Batman. That is awesome! Why not?!
Oh my gorgeous friend….how cute is this pup!!!! We have such a cute doggie too…Hudson, our mini wiener dog!! Love him to pieces!!
