Yesterday morning’s weather was abominable.

Usually, rainy days are reserved for staying inside with a warm drink and a good book. Yesterday, however, I had somewhere special to go. October is “Adopt a Pet” month, and even though I’m not over the death of my dog (and I never will be), I know I can offer a good home to a lonely puppy.
Can you believe this guy was scheduled to be euthanized?
He looked so sad in his crate; it would’ve been impossible to not take him home. If you’re ever thinking of buying a dog, please consider adoption so that adorable pups like this one won’t be put down.
I really want to call him Batman. (Check out those ears!) But my sister informs me this would be cruel and I must give him a proper name. So far, he-who-must-not-be-named seems to be getting along with Henry, my other dog. Henry pretty much ignores the puppy.

I have four dogs, but two are at my mom’s and two are at my dads. Three of them we got from farms where their dog had puppies so we just took them in haha. I also have a couple of cats at my dad’s that I’ve had since they were kittens. I love them all 😀

My pup passed away in late February, and as much as the sight of other dogs brings a smile to my face. I just haven’t come to a place where I’m ready to get another one. We occasionally peruse the Basset Hound rescue sites… maybe one day.

I think Batman is a great name, even if it becomes his nickname. My dogs have always had a ton of nicknames. But yeah, calling “Batman! come.”.. might be a little weird. 😉
You could call him Bruce.. that way you aren’t giving away his secret identity. 😀

OMG! I can’t believe somebody could leave this puppy! It’s soooooooooooooo cute! And for some reason Batman sounds good to me for a name 😀 .
I have a pet, too. His name is Charlie. I love to say he’s from Moscow because my father found it hiding under an old Moskvich when he was a baby. I still remember he was 800g when dad brought him home (we measured him on the kitchen scale 😛 ) and had the most adorable puppy eyes. Now he is almost 12 years old and he is one of my most faithful friends.
Way to go girl! I am all about promoting adopting animals through the humane society or other rescue groups! I’ve gotten both my cats through rescues and am scouring the pound for the dog I am dying to get! (just need to convince the hubs) 🙂 Enjoy the love they give!
Aww! OMG- your puppy is beyond adorable.
I’m such an animal person, it’s ridiculous. My current apartment doesn’t allow pets, but my lease is up soon and I’m planning to move somewhere that does ASAP. I’m looking into getting a yorkie-poo. (Half yorkie, half poodle) I can’t wait!
