My Cousins Invade Genghis Grill

The last day of my cousins’ visit to Texas went by in a whirlwind. We swam– Oh yes, we DID venture into the cold water!

We took a long walk around my campus (SMU).
We met up with some of my friends, who LOVED the twins.

And then we went to Genghis Grill! While my parents and aunt filled their dinner bowls with meat, all three of my cousins opted for vegan meals! And Charlie kept repeating, “Tofu is my favorite food ever,” as he devoured piece after piece of his teriyaki tofu. You don’t hear that very often out of an omnivore’s mouth!

No one told Charlie that kids aren’t supposed to like tofu. Apparently, no one told Abby either. Look at all that tofu in her bowl! And look at that huge smile on her face!

You all look so cute! Sounds like you and your cousins had a blast. Way to show ’em a good time – vegan style.

Given the chance I think kids *love* tofu! My almost 3-year-old is thrilled when I take out a package of tofu from the fridge and I hardly have time to rinse it before she starts nibbling!

And thank you for being so polite & asking about adding me to your blogroll – of course – I added you sans your permission…sorry… 🙂

I think you have the coolest cousins ever. That’s really awesome that they are being exposed to delicious vegan food before anyone gets the chance to place a stigma around it!! (Gotta get ’em while they’re young!) 🙂 Just kidding. (Sort of.)

I am extremely jealous of the green grass & sunny skies in your neck of the woods… However, all our snow should be gone by this weekend! Yay! FINALLY.

Of course you can add me–I’d be delighted! 🙂

Yay Tofu! That’s brilliant to hear – my little boy loves tofu too, but my daughter, who can remember a time before tofu, won’t go anywhere near it… one day…

It’s awesome that you’ve been such a great influence on your cousins. You’re planting seeds and hopefully instilling food ethics that will stick with them for life.

I think you may have converted them to veganism! I can’t believe they like tofu, that’s so cute!

You are all so cute! What a fun outing for everyone. Introducing tofu at an early age must be the trick to converting omnis to vegans.

Adorable pics! Seems like you all had a grand time.

I can’t even imagine explaining veganism/vegan food to my cousins, nieces and nephews that are around that age… let alone convincing them to eat it.

Looks fun, though. And I’m also a little jealous of the green and sunshine. The temperatures are rising here, but it’s still pretty dreary.
