Nutella Cookies?

Can I interest you in a Nutella cookie?

No?

No takers?

I can’t imagine why…

Are you sure???

All joking aside, I’d hoped to give you a Nutella cookie recipe today. After all, it’s World Nutella Day! But as you can see, this cookie recipe = a major fail. Major. If anyone was under the impression that my recipe experiments always work out on the first try, let the above photos stand as evidence to the contrary Confused smile.

It often takes me two or three (or four or five!) tries before I get something worthy of posting on the site. So I won’t give up on that Nutella cookie recipe yet. Hopefully the next batch you see will look a heckuva lot better than these! (They couldn’t look worse, right?) In the meantime…

Do try this recipe: Healthy Chocolate Nutella.

It’s really quick and easy, much better for you than regular Nutella… and it tastes way better, too! Just don’t turn it into cookies. Trust me. Winking smile

Question of the Day:

Have you had any recipe failures recently?

Tomorrow, I promise to give you a recipe that is not a failure. I’m just deciding which one to post first: Triple Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate-Chip Love Cookies, Raspberry Truffle Ice Cream…

I know about recipe failures. I made your sugar free chocolate chip cookie dough dip. It was horrible. I thought I could salvage it and possibly make cookies by adding oats and baking them for 10-15 mins at 350. They came out ok because the chocolate was warm and melty and masked the flavor a bit, but I tried one cold and it was disgusting. I’m annoyed that a whole can of chickpeas was wasted. Good thing only 1/3 cup of chocolate chips was wasted in this recipe.

Why on earth would someone write such a rude and nasty comment? 🙁

Plus, I’ve made that recipe a million times now, and it rocks. Really rocks. It sounds like YOU did something wrong, because there’s nothing wrong with the recipe. So don’t go blaming the recipe for your wasted chickpeas :(.

Eek–I hope that didn’t drip into your oven! Burnt cookie is a mess to clean up!

I ruined the same soup twice because my mother forgot to share a tiny detail when she save me the recipe. I was just starting to think that I was a hopeless idiot when she finally told me what was wrong 🙂 .

Fortunately no! Sorry your cookies didn’t turn out so good-looking. I’m sure they would have tasted good though. You can’t go wrong with Nutella! I didn’t know it was nutella day. Happy nutella day! I coincidentally did have pretzels with nutella though. I must have a 6th sense! 🙂

I fail with recipes all the time! Last night I tried to make an alfredo pizza without a recipe- but the sauce was too thin (and I stupidly didn’t attempt to thicken it), I added too much, the crust was too thin at the center of the pizza… I ended up eating it with a fork in a very pasta-fashion until I got to the crust (which were kind of breadstick-y I suppose?)!

I had a major flop just today. I made a bean dip I found online. While their bean dip came out thick and like refried beans, mine came out like bean soup. If anything I cut back on the amount of liquid they added, so I have no clue what happened!

I adore the fact that you posted pics of your “failed” recipe (even though I’m sure they still tasted delicious!) I can understand wanting to show pretty food pictures of successful recipes, but the truth is, when most people try experimenting it’s tough to get it perfect on the first (or tenth) try! Thanks for reminding me that it’s a good thing to take risks and try new recipe combinations….we’d never discover the good stuff without all the experiments. Keep up the good work and looking forward to the next recipe:) Ps – I’m already working on batch #2 of your healthy nutella, definitely a favorite!

I definitely didn’t want to lead anyone on… People need to know that it’s perfectly ok to fail at a recipe sometimes. It doesn’t make you a bad cook, and it’s nothing to get upset over. (Ok, so I was a *tad* upset having to clean that giant Nutella mess! But at least I got a fun story out of it ;).)

Haha oh no! Can’t wait for the recipe 😉
