Can I interest you in a Nutella cookie?
No?
No takers?
I can’t imagine why…
Are you sure???
All joking aside, I’d hoped to give you a Nutella cookie recipe today. After all, it’s World Nutella Day! But as you can see, this cookie recipe = a major fail. Major. If anyone was under the impression that my recipe experiments always work out on the first try, let the above photos stand as evidence to the contrary
.
It often takes me two or three (or four or five!) tries before I get something worthy of posting on the site. So I won’t give up on that Nutella cookie recipe yet. Hopefully the next batch you see will look a heckuva lot better than these! (They couldn’t look worse, right?) In the meantime…
Do try this recipe: Healthy Chocolate Nutella.
It’s really quick and easy, much better for you than regular Nutella… and it tastes way better, too! Just don’t turn it into cookies. Trust me. ![]()
Question of the Day:
Have you had any recipe failures recently?
Tomorrow, I promise to give you a recipe that is not a failure. I’m just deciding which one to post first: Triple Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate-Chip Love Cookies, Raspberry Truffle Ice Cream…

I’d still try them =)
Oh we all have fails… I try to save them but sometimes it’s just impossible. I hate it though because I see all that precious sugar and nutella or peanut butter or whatever it is in just a soupy pile and I want to lick the cookie sheet…or at least figure out what I did wrong so I don’t have a fail repeat.
I always mess up with recipes on the first time – more so with baking than cooking!
recipe failure: I dropped a whole bowl of your cookie dough dip onto the floor right after I finished making it. mega sadness.
LOL oh no!
Sometimes I drop chocolate on the floor… is it bad that I always eat it anyway? 😉
I can’t wait to try your Nutella cookies (I would try those in the pic)!
I made your chocolate chip cookie dough last night (a double batch) for a small group fellowship this afternoon and a superbowl party tonight. It was a big hit!!!
That’s a cruel cruel joke! I got really excited!
They actually don’t look that bad, maybe a bit squished 🙂
Some of the ugliest food I have made has been the tastiest
Ahahaha that’s great! The same thing happened when I tried using Nutella instead of peanut butter in the 3-ingredient peanut butter cookies (1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg). I think the millk in the Nutella caused them to run all over the place.
If you wanted to be super sickeningly cute (a la Rachel Ray) you could call them “Not-ella” cookies.
Heyy Katie,
Good luck with perfecting the recipe!!
I was wondering, did you just try to make PB cookies but replace the PB with your “Nutella”?? Just wondering ;).
I don’t know if you’re heard of these,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO-0sqZgCEA
they’re kinda new, but I think a “Nutella” cookie based on them would be awesome!! I know you could healthy-fy and improve these ((probably using about 1/4 the ingredients I bet!!)). Just an idea!!..
((P.S. – Sorry the link goes to Youtube – it was the only info on them that I could find online!! It’s basically a chocolate-filled cookie..))
Also, sorry about the video – it’s the one they’re advertising at the moment and I think it’s ridiculous!!
My friend, her husband and I tried to make Nutella cookies a few years ago and they came out just terrible. I mean really, really bad. We ended up pouring the huge amount of leftover batter into a cake pan and baked that. It became a terrible cake. Her husband ate it all, though, because he said it wasn’t too bad and he hates wasting food. Looking forward to successful Nutella cookies!
